But before you sign that check or hand over a cent, make sure you’re getting the right person for the job.
1) Follow Instructions – This may seem obvious, but make sure they will be able to handle the construction of your new home. Some may not be able to, so make your instructions clear before hiring.
2) Question Their Knowledge – Before you meet with different builders gather some knowledge about home building and prepare questions for them to see how experienced they are.
3) Let Them Advise You – As previously mentioned, many of us don’t know squat when it comes to home building. So show them your home plans and see if they can advise you on things that could be done differently to make the home better.
4) Know The Quality Prior – Chances are, this isn’t the builders’ first time building a new home. See if you can view some of the builder’s previous work to try and get an idea if you will like what they will offer you and your home.
